How to present complex information about pensions,
in an inviting, clear and organised way?

Scope

Telegraafpensioenfonds is the pension fund of the Telegraaf Media Group (TMG). TMG provide consumers with high-quality, personalised and relevant news, sport and entertainment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The website used by Telegraafpensioenfonds did not meet the standards set by TMG anymore and therefore, our team was asked to develop a high-quality, personalised and relevant website.

Kick-off Design Sprint

We kicked off the project with a design workshop. Three personas were made and specific goals for each persona were set. With use of lo-fi wireframing several personalised user flows were conceptualised.

Afterwards, the team and I started wireframing.

User Testing

Our team never makes assumptions; we test everything. After developing the wireframes, we wanted to check if our wireframes were presenting the complex information about pensions in an inviting, clear and organised way. A logic approach to test these assumptions is by conducting a Usability Test.

Luckily, Telegraaf has a User Experience lab where prototypes can be tested with use of Usability Testing. Six users, consisting of the target audience, were invited to test the prototype made in Invision.

Visual Design

With the insights gained from the Usability Test, the team and I iterated the wireframes and started working on the Visual Design. During the Usability Test, three Style Tiles were shown to the target audience. The one that appealed the most was used as a starting point for the Visual Design

Design Sprint

Everything Explained

Finding the useful information about pensions can be a difficult task. Therefore, we designed a user flow which guides the user to the specific information about an event in either your private or professional life. Once on the article page, words relating to pensions, are explained in a glossary.
